Our Programs

The Kaleidoscope Project: TheRAPy Sessions

TheRAPy Sessions provides mental health support to young artists through recording sessions focused on healing from trauma. In an effort to promote healing from racial trauma through artistic expression, TKP teaches Music TheRAPy classes and hosts music recording sessions with young artists that are interested in exploring how music coupled with therapy can help heal trauma, remedy depression and other mental health issues.

The goal of the program is reducing anxiety, increased levels of creativity, openly expressing emotions, and a boost in one’s confidence. TheRAPy sessions aid artists who rely on music as a release but cannot afford studio time.

The Kaleidoscope Project: ARevoluTion Program

TKP supports leaders, organizers, & organizations through art-based curriculum and programming that addresses racial inequity with ARevoluTion. Systemic discrimination plays a role in sustaining criminal justice disparities, inequitable school resource distribution, inequitable employment opportunities, voter restrictions and suppression and gentrification. Ultimately, we hope to influence progressive policy to dismantle the nature of racial inequity and systemic racism as it currently exists in the United States.

This program began with a heavy emphasis on political education, popular education, and an understanding of the policies that contribute to food apartheid. It has progressed to a collaborative effort with local organizations to prepare and maintain community gardens, host local pop up markets, and create art to amplify our efforts.

TKP BIPOC Business Circle

We are building coalitions around the relationships we've started. Every business brings something special to the community, why not do that strategically? We work with local BIPOC businesses to offer free employment services, free salon services, free wellness packages & relaxation supplies from yogis/massage therapists, self defense training, and so much more!

TKPs business circle was created in 2020 and kicked off in February of 2021 in response to the needs for more complete ecosystems in our communities. After distributing approximately $100,000 in mini grants to over 18 black-owned businesses in Denver and Aurora, TKP asked recipients if they would be interested in having consistent conversations about building our community together around our needs rather than depending on systems that have decided to fail us.

The circle has now grown to more than 30 businesses and focuses on hosting events that support growth in terms of visibility and revenue for the members of the circle.
